VO2max (or Sub-max) Test
The ASSC now offers the gold standard in fitness testing, the VO2max test. This test provides you with essential information for designing a detailed training plan that will deliver you the results you need. Quite simply, by utilising the information attained during this test, you will increase your fitness in the fastest way possible.
Our portable unit makes it easy to test on any piece of cardiovascular equipment, and most sport-specific movements.

Boxing Beep Test
We’ve all heard of the Progressive Shuttle Run, or Beep Test, used in many sports to measure fitness. The ASSC have designed a similar test specific to boxing that has proven to be the most accurate specific measure of boxing fitness currently available. Wearing the Metabolic Analyser, we measure the oxygen consumption of the athlete whilst they hit the wall-mounted pad at a tempo that increases over time.

Eye/Hand Coordination - Reaction time
To maximize athletic performance it is critical that athletes utilise the latest technology in sport science to assess, treat, and provide feedback to themselves, their coach and their trainers. At the ASSC, we use the SVT™, which is internationally regarded as the most advanced instrument in the world for the accurate measurement and training of visual-motor skills. Regular training with the SVT will provide great improvements in eye/hand coordination, peripheral awareness reaction time, coincidence anticipation, and total reaction time.

Video Analysis
If you provide the DVD, the ASSC can complete a full analysis of the footage and then provide you with all the information on an Excel spreadsheet:
- How many punches were thrown, and by who?
- Did it hit or miss?
- At what time in the round was each punch thrown?
- the options are limitless!
We can then also provide you with a DVD of just the selected video highlights that you would like to view:
- All landing punches
- All punches thrown by opponent
- All right hands thrown by opponent
- And much more!

Resting Metabolic Rate
Do you think you might have a slow metabolism? Do you want to know how many calories you can consume each day to lose weight? The energy burnt for the resting metabolic processes in humans (RMR) covers the largest portion of the total energy the human body spends in a day. This amount varies widely from person to person and it is quite difficult to measure. At the ASSC we use indirect calorimetry to measure RMR with scientific precision, and a short questionnaire to estimate the energy expenditure induced by lifestyle, physical activity and exercise. This makes designing a weight loss eating plan much more accurate.

Caloric Cost Measurement
Would you like to know how many calories you burn during an exercise session? Our portable Metabolic Analyser will allow you to measure your typical energy expenditure during a training session or individual activity by analysing the amount of oxygen you consume.
Speed / Agility
Reacting and accelerating in a range of directions is an essential characteristic for many sports. At the ASSC we use the latest in wireless timing systems to test speed and agility specific to your sport. The same tools are then used to provide sport-specific speed, agility, and reaction training drills.
